Call of duty: Black Ops multiplayer review

Black ops multiplayer is one of the best multiplayer games on the market today. After countless attempts by other games to compete with call of duty;call of duty has always stayed strong and has been the most played multiplayer game over the course of 4 years. Needless to say, the game keeps on getting better every single year. With the addition to new killstreaks, equipment, wager matches, currency, and more, Black Ops could be the best call of duty yet. Of course though there are still issues with the game, such as connection problems. But is is easy to look past that and enjoy the game.


Multiplayer consists of players competing online in separate game modes such as domination, capture the flag, team deathmatch...etc. Throughout the game, you rank up and earn new weapons, emblems and camos. The new currency called "cod points" unfortunately makes you have to buy the gun AFTER you unlock it. I do not see it being necessary to unlock things twice in a row. Treyarch is pushing players to choose their own path buy buying guns, equipment and camo right from the start.

The game modes are very similar aside from a barebones playlist that adds limitations to matches such as no perks or attachments in a team deathmatch. There is one very unique fun mode called "Wager matches." Wager matches help you earn cod points by betting on the match and placing in the top three to get paid. The game modes are: One in the chamber which only allows you to have 1 single bullet and three lives, knife somebody and get a bullet, miss a shot and you are left with nothing. Sticks and stones give you an explosive crossbow and a ballistic knife only. Get tomahawked and you will lose all of your points! Sharpshooter is a free for all game where you get a randomized gun every 45 seconds. Gun game(my personal favorite) is a game mode where you progress through 20 levels of guns. Going from hard to easy to harder. It shows you the types of weapons in the game and once you kill someone with all 20 guns you win the match. Careful though because you will get setback one gun if you get knifed.

Deathstreaks have been removed along with the nuke. Your killstreaks do not count towards other killsteaks and you have all of them unlocked for you at level 10. This makes it more challenging for that top killstreak to put your team on top. The perks are mostly the same with fresh new names. The new guns and equipment are fun to use. A camera spike allows you to view a certain area while the new motion sensor allows you to have a small radar in your area. It is good to use for defending a bomb or a spot. Treyarch has done a wonderful job adding new features to the game and it will make call of duty fans satisfied.
